Problems with Rear Window

There is an embarresing story behind how the window ended up breaking, but basically my problem involves the bottom portion of the back window where the Key/Button releases the entire window. The inside portion of the window where there is a loop/shaft which locks into the door became bent and ended up not fitting right into the slot within the door. I simply went to the dealership and bought a new peice. So it fit fine into the door, but now the lock within the door will not release the back window. So im afriad somthin may have gotten bent in there too. SO basically if anyone knows the actual name of the locking system within the rear door that holds the back window in, please let me know. And secondly, if anyone has any ideas as to how i might go about getting the rear window to release please throw your ideas out there. I appreciate it.

Re: Problems with Rear Window

What I did with my first generation is remove the screws holding the bottom of the panel, pulled it out an inch or so then I pulled it straight up. There are 2 screws that I couldn't get to and the panel just ripped at those points letting it come off.

Then it's pretty easy to pop the glass. Get someone to hit the button while you watch the mechinism. Then just push the latch the same way only further.

I would leave the panel off for a day or 2 just in case it isn't adjusted properly

I just used the same panel and I don't think that anyone will ever notice the ears missing. Plus if I ever have to remove it it's easy
