Unhappy 1996 emmision/computer issues

A few months ago I bought this (3.8) Windstar... When I tried to take it thru inspection and I did disconnect the battery before that because of a check engine light and it failed on the emmisions.... The EGR was ready but the Oxygen sensors and cataylst was not ready.... The OBD Diagnostic Passed..
Since then I have fixed the codes I did have in it... No Codes now...

A few weeks ago I replaced the battery and I have tried 4 times to take it thru inspection and I am getting the same results as above....
The last time the guy had me drive the van around to make it sure the engine was hot...
So do I have a bad computer or is it something else..... Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Hello

What were the codes that you had? How many miles on your van? Are you saying that the van isn't passing inspection and you don't have any codes?

How may miles have you driven after the battery was replaced? When a computer looses power, it takes time for it to "relearn" various things. If the computer hasn't had time to relearn it will not pass inspections.

Regards

Dan

The codes I had were 1537 and 1538 and po174 and po174... They are all gone... I have 95,000 miles on the van.. I would say I had put on 250 miles on it since I replaced the battery... But the last time I tried to get it inspected was when I had put bout 100 miles on it since I rerplaced the battery.....
