Heater Problem

On my daughters 1996 Pontiac Sunfire the heater only blows on the 2 highest settings and when we place the controller on the front window defrost setting the A/C light comes on and the compressor seems to kick in?

Anyone else have this problem or have heard of something similar? Trying to decide if its in the wiring or in the heater resistor?

Re: Heater Problem

the ac compressor does kick in when using the defroster, its like that so when you use the defroster in the cold months it keeps the ac lubricated

that has absolutely nothing to do with it, it kicks on to dry out the air the defroster blows out to clear the fog off the window faster
