anyone used the tamiya pearl clears???

im thinking about trying it but would like to know if its any good first otherwise ill stick with clear ,pics would be great too ?thanks dom

I've used the pearl clear. It's not bad, but you would have to look a bit hard to see the metallic flakes. It is probably better used to enhance the metallic's of a metallic colour (if you get my drift )

Works good over dark colors, at least the particles are more visible. It sems to dry faster than TS-13 too... - Mark

It can reach the finish of the Tamiya Pearl White or not?? What brands make those kind of paints?

cool thanks for the heads up guys im using tamiya metallic red as the body colour so ill give it a try instead of the ts13 thanks

If you want pearl white, use the TS-45 Pearl White over white, the TS- 65 Clear Pearl will not make an equal pearl white.

Using the Pearl Clear over Metallic Red will work great... - Mark

Tamiya Pearl Clear over Tamiya Semi Gloss Black





Still needs bufing or a coat of straight clear.

thanks for the pics and heads up ,on my current project i had some ts13 left so i stuck with it and it came out sweet ,ill give the pearl a go as it looks cool aswell and really does hilight the metallics

I used it on my Lambo over Bright Red.

It work, but I don'T like the finish. I had to add a coat of TS-13 to have a good shine.
