Broken harmonic balancer

I get in an accident, the bumper its self is intact, the bumper cover is broken...

The damage is reparied and I drive it away from the body shop only to hear a CLANK CLANK

I get it diagnosed as a BROKEN HARMONIC BALANCER, so this new shop replaces the broken harmonic balancer with a new one..

Well it just broke again, they ordered another one and said it may be because the crank shaft is bent...

Does anyone know about the crankshaft, or harmonic balancers? Is this a sensative area? Does this sound like im getting hustled?
