xm radio installation

Does anyone know how to install an xm radio skyfi 2 system into a chevy cavalier 2002 without all the wires showing?

Re: xm radio installation

I have a serius satelite radio. Be right back and I'll go take some pictures of how I did it. Mine might be a bit different then yours, but same concept. GRANTED i MOUNTED MINE UNDERNEATH MY REARVIEW MIRROR, BC I THOUGHT IT LOOKED TACKY ON MY DASH.

EDIT:
I ran the wire underneath the black rubber peice above my window where the arrow is pointing to.

Next I ran the wire around the corners.

Then I ran the wire around the window sill (black arrows) and when you pull on the rubber peice of the weather stripping, there are peices of the rubber that are stuck to the body (white arrows) that you can wrap the wire around so it isn't lose. Then ran it on top by where the blue arrow is pointing.

Next where the circle is, is where I ran the wire to the inside of my car to the circle on the next picture.

Then I ran the wire along my black plastic peice.

As you can see in the picture of how I have my wires showing. That isn't that much to me. I have two wires. One is for my cigarette lighter adapter for my Serius and the other is my radar detector. I ran the antenna wire to my satelite radio up underneath my sun visor instead of down with my radar detector wire.

Then I ran the antenna wire above by my sun visor and tucked the excess wires that I had left from my antenna to my satelite radio up under my roof and ceiling carpet.

And this is my final deal. I mounted mine underneath the mirror and dimmed it as low as it would go. It looked tacky sitting on the dash.

Re: Re: xm radio installation

Thanks man you went above and beyond the call of duty on that one. I actually ran the antenna from the trunk though and just ran it down the frame of the passenger side and up through the dash. I'm going to direct wire it into an fm modulator later so i don't have to use the ac adaptor. I just have to find the time. P.S. Vent clipse suck...if you don't want to use them you can actually make a bracket and run it through the dash right between where the two parts of it come together. i.e. Where the black and tan parts of my dash come together
