Re: Re: What could this be?

LOL!!!!! i think it has something to do with car audio so maybe its a giant dildo attached to a 12" subwoofer so when it pounds it vibrates the giant dildo?

Re: What could this be?

Here is the box (you saw a pic of the beginings before i think) still nto finsihed. just got the PVC for the ports and Bondo to finish it off today. as soon as i finish this post im going to put hte ports in and screw the baffle on.

And here is a comparison to a cheapo 8... i dont even reemmber what brand, it came out of a bass tube, the bass tube and al lwas like $60. of ocurse the amp was pure garbage. anyway...i tas silver, i painted it black and put a ghetto brahma dust cap on it.

and here is the wickedest scrap box you'll evah see evah...prototype for what a more SPL friendly version will be w/ 2 187 12's or other entry SPL driver.

basically i figure if i can get this to get over 140 on the AC with my 2 Audiobahn 10's im trying to sell its worth it modified for SPL as i am doing the enclsoure text book....so its really designed for like extention down to 20Hz flat to like 5,000Hz if you flip the baffle....but ya

Re: What could this be?

Tada

cant wait to hear this baby, its ready to go except for cosmetics (obviously...no wait, we are going for that honda civic ricer look with the bondo'd body kit...only it will be really loud and anoying to old people in a different way) so i figured i may get the bondoing finsihed tonight and the sanding finsihed monday night and paint tuesday and installed wednesday. going to be powered by a 500/1 and is 1.~1.9 cuft tuned to ~36Hz. Its built for daily SPL. dont care about flat responce, he just wanted it to wang on most rap tracks. My goal was over 140 on the AC. should be easy to hit.

It looks to me, in the pictures, that your horn throat is a little too small. It should be 1.25"x12" when all boards are in place.

Pretty cool to see someone else doing Decware designs, they've turned out nothing but good to me.

Re: What could this be?

NG, what do you think about using a modified wicked one for SPL?

im going to be using something around 24-28" tall (the mouth will be facing up obviously) to keep it under the window line so i can run AS2 with my BX1205D. I was thinking about picking up a pair of 187 12's. What do you think about thoes for AS2 or do you think i should look elseware (id like too keep it under around $200 for the pair)?

I may think about grabbing a different amp with less current draw to squeaze into AS1. What kind of numbers will i need to hit in AS1 and AS2 to be highly compeditive?

Should i be talking to someone else like PMing Loyd or even Tottie or someone else of the likes?

I'm not too sure about the AS class...as far as competitive scores.

I think the 187 12's would be an excellent choice. Also, I'm lazy...how big of a fuse can you go with? (Assuming AS1 and 2 12's...) That Hifonics should be fine...it just has to hold for a burp. We were burping two 20.1's off of an 80 amp fuse...heh...
