3.0 to 4.0?

Anyone know of any issues or extra parts i will need for this swap? My '92 ranger has a blown 3.0 in it right now and i found a 4.0 out of a 93 or 94 for cheap i want to put in..... ive heard it will bolt right up but will i need the 4.0 ecu and everything thanks.

You will need the wiring harness, another tranny, and probably new mounting brackets. The 3 liter and 4 liters are nothing alike. Your probably better off dropping a V-8 in it.

Yup. 2.6,2.8,2.9,4.0 OHV were the same bellhousing and the 3.0L is just completely different.. Either swap would definately be better than that 3.0L.
