Hatch and coupe..?

This is probably the dumbest question you guys have ever heard... but here it goes... :P So i'm looking into buying a 99 Cougar, and i was wondering if there is a difference between a coupe and a hatch on a cougar... i mean i'm not stupid enough to not know the difference of what a coupe and a hatch are... but on all the car i've looked at the have been the same...

Nah, thats alright, everyones a noob on a car at some point. Honestly, on another note, I would say go for the 2000-2002 model cougar because the 99 has some problems starting off like the oil pump and some other things, and just a tip, if you're buying a new one you may need to replace the flywheel because with mine, when I first bought it, after about a week of driving, sometimes whenever I would try to start up it would make a high pitch whine and I took it to the shop and the problem is the flywheel has lost some teeth so I looked it up and more than a few other cougar owners have the same problem, but anyways.... There is no difference between the coupes and the 'hatches'. Some people think it differently and look at the rear hatch as a third door (I personally just refer to it as a trunk), but technically, all cougars are only 2 doors. By the way, a coupe is a 2 door car, a hatch is just the trunk, well, hatch that not only opens up to the trunk but if need be, you can climb through the seats without removing anything (take it the trunk cover on the inside is taken off)... Hope this helps ya, and have a Merry Christmas

Re: Hatch and coupe..?

haha, that they do , I remember for my first system in mine I got 2 Dual 12'' woofers with the Amp that came with it (I believe it was 400 and something watts) and just that made the car sound awesome, and just that system as well, makes my brothers '96 Caprice Classic sound awesome and the whole trunk of that rattles.... But yeah, good luck with your new cat and I hope everything works out for ya!
