1971 PL 521 Pick-up

Just got this little pick up and am interested in retrofitting it with shoulder seat belts - since my 17 year old is going to be driving it. Any suggestions?

that is odd . . . .

i know my 72 521 had shoulder belts.

maybe it was still an option in the early seventies, not required equipment.

i would suggest going to a junkyard and looking in other datsun pick-ups and cars of the same vintage, you might get lucky.

most 510s, 210s, 610s, and 710s (70's datsun cars) came with shoulder+lap belts that could be installed with little difficulty.

a buddy of mine had a 610 wagon that had only lap belts when he got it and he went to a junkyard and got just the shoulder straps and installed them with the lap belts he allready had. (apparently his had an optional, detachable, shoulder strap. the same could be true of your pick-up, after-all, my 521 did have shoulder straps when i got it.)

hope that helps
