multi amp question

I am getting 2 12' subs with a recommand rms at 500w and 900w max. So i was thinking of buying 3 800w 4 channel amps, 1 to power the front speakers, and 1 for each sub. Is this a stupid idea? or should i get two amps, one to power the subs like a 1500w mono amp and the 800w 4 channel? Either way the price is roughly the same

Re: multi amp question

i would recommend getting a single amp for the subs and another for the mids and highs. what kind of subs do you have? what voice coil configuration?

Re: multi amp question

I want 1 12' sub.

I'd go three subs, in case one f's up, you got another you can split till you can replace the one that f'd up.

Re: multi amp question

jet-lee smokes crack, dont worry.

lol, j/k

get a single 1000w RMS amp and a one 400w *im assumeing your spekaers are 200w each) 2chanel amp. dont amp your rear drivers, run them off the head unit, if your rear drivers are as loud as your fronts it often makes the sound durection blurry to the mind. for some people it may even be annoying.

what subs are you getting?

Hey, I offer low prices for high quality crack. Ain't never heard you complain.

lol

I've run seperate amps before for my subs and really liked it. It was a lot easier to expand my system, or experiment with amping up front/rear etc. to see what different balance levels I could get. Easier than running out and buying another amp.

Re: multi amp question

I love Dave Cheppelle...but my GF didnt even know who he was. She doesnt watch CC much. i had seen some of his stand up before the chapelle show and like him but i didnt see enough, when i saw th skits i was hooked. hwoever i dont go around saying "im rick james bitch"

however i do say "im rich beyotch" sometimes...and sometimes i talk like tyrone biggum when im bored sometimes.

you have to admit, he is one of the best comedians out there. a lot better than carlos mencea or however you spell it.
