Big Block+Good Front Suspension?

I'm slowly gathering the parts to rebuild the front of my Comet (1967 Comet 202). I've already added big block "DRUM" brakes up front, and a massive sway bar. I did this when I droped a very healthy 302 in place of the 200 6cyl it had.

Well, now I've gathered all my parts for a new shiny 460 (535cid now) in the 302s spot. My worries (well founded since the 4xdrum brakes were NOT adiquate for the 302) are that I need an easy steering good stoping frontend for the new motor before I put it in.

The other plus I'm looking for is to get rid of the shock towers (a 460 fits well with them, but changing spark plugs, and installing headers is a hastle).

I've found some Mustang stuff (usually bolts right in) but they are all SOO expencive and seem to change to fast to buy them part by part. I don't currently have power steering or power brakes. I plan to add a/c but I would like to keep away from power brakes and steering but go with a good rack & pinion setup and healthy disc brakes all around eventually.

I just installed a kit from "Rod and Custom" to fit a 460 in my "64 Comet. This kit contains everything you can imagine: Crossmember, tubular A-arms, rack and pinion, 2" drop spidles, 11" disk brakes, calipers, braided brake lines, motor mounts, steering linkage, even filler plates to cover the holes left after you remove the shock towers. Everything they sent me fit. Its about $2500 but after you add up all the parts its more than worth it. I have pictures but I don't think I can post them here.

In 82 there wasn't much available. I got parts from a 76 and a 77 Mustang to fit a 428 in my 65 Comet Calient Convertible. Took 6 months and alot of cursing and cussing to do it. Nice to hear someone mention a 60's Comet. Oh, and guys, the 65 looks so much better than the 64 or 67.

I don't mind the look of most of the Comets. I really liked the '67 202 because it was so short in the ass end. Makes big tires look bigger, and everyone knows "Bigger is Better" .. heheheheh
