05 Sunfire - positraction

Bought an 05 sunfire in August (cheapest money could buy) and it just experienced its first snow fall. It appears to only have right front tire drive (traction). I am new to this type of vehicle and was wondering ir there are any upgrades available to add positraction to this thing? If so, how much and can you point me to a website where I can do some of the research.

Thanks much

5 speed or automatic? if its an automatic just put it into 2nd gear. Also i thought sunfires came with a switch that turned traction control off?

It is a 5 Speed manual and doesn't have traction control, 2dr Coupe Base w/1SV. Guess I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) about two wheel drive, maybe it is two wheel drive without traction control. Guess I'll pull it onto the lawn and pop the cluch-) that will tell me what I got.

Long term I am looking to add some performance to it however wanted to ensure that I could get the power to the pavement prior to making an investment in a turbo or supercharger.

Re: 05 Sunfire - positraction

normally FWD vehicles dont come with positraction due to the fact that it would make it very hard to make a turn with two wheels that wont turn at different speeds. traction control applies the brakes on whateve wheel is spinning to keep it from spinning and also to transfer power to the other wheel if its on a drive axle. anyway like i said most of the time. you can get fwd diffs that are posi. i dont think it would be nice for a daily driver due to the turning issue. but then again when you get a supercharger i imagine the torque boost on there will make you LOVE a fwd car :P torque steer is vicious.
