Engine Will Not Start....can anyone diagnose this problem??

Went to start my 1995 325is and it would not start.

Details:

>When key is inserted and ignition turned there is no crank, no nothing at all. Also, steering wheel remains locked despite key inserted and turned all the way.

Battery is almost new and all electrical seems to still work fine (radio, windows, etc.)

Anyone know where the problem lies....any help appreciated!

Thanks

It sounds like you have a bad ignition cylinder lock problem. It may be broken internally.

Thanks for the input...that is what I was thinking too. It is as if the ignition cylinder does not even know that the key is in there and turning...I mean absolutely nothing happens...guages don't move, wheel does not unlock, etc. I even tried spare key in case it was a problem with the key...still nothing.
