95 blazer 4x4 ABS issues

i have a 95 blazer, 4x4 4 door, built in august,
recently had the brakes done, now, seemingly at random, when i first drive it in the morning, the first couple times i hit the brakes it acts like its slippery, it makes the noise, and it doesnt stop. after i hit them a few times they go back to being normal. only seems to do it first thing in the morning, doesnt always do it, seems to usually be raining, or having rained, or otherwise wet weather when it does it,

anyone else have this problem or know what it might be?

i used to have a 90 ranger without ABS, and the brakes on it also seemed to do the same thing when it was wet out, never did resolve that issue.

No, it just acts like you are driving on ice when you first press the pedal, it doesnt apply much pressure to the brakes, untill you hit them a few times, only seems to happen when wet, mostly, i know nothing about abs brakes, might be sensor problem? i dont know how they know when u are slipping. if i understood how the work, i might be able to figgure out what is wrong.

no one else has had this problem? i find it strange ive had similar problems with two diff vehicles, one abs and one not, but both seem to act up when its wet out, then after u hit the brakes a few times they are fine.

Sounds like the ABS unit needs bleeding. Unfortunatly you need a tech II programmer to do it. (All the valves need opened up electronicly).

ok, but it only does it 1 or 2 times a month, and a non abs brake system does the same thing, and it seems to only happen when its wet out,

I'm just taking a stab here but try cleaning the rotors and the pads. If some grease or other lubricant got on them it may cause water to gather on the area when its wet out. Wouldn't hurt at least to try.

good point, but how long would the lubricant stay on the rotor? i totaly redid the brakes for the 90 ranger,

new rotors, pads, calipers, and it still did the same thing, even like 5 months later, wouldnt it eventually wear off?

Blazers are noutorious for bad ABS units, they start out with symptoms like you are describing, and eventually they end up at the point where the pedal drops to the floor and you cna barely stop the car. If you can find a used part it's not that bad, but they are hard to come by since it's so common and a new one runs about 1700 bucks.

ok, so why does a 90 ranger, no abs do the same thing?

It sounds like your brakes on the ranger may have a master cylinder/booster probelm. The ABS fault on the Blazers blows out the master cylinder, if you replace it you will have brakes again, but you will be lucky if it lasts 2 weeks with regular driving. I bet if you replace it on the ranger you will have no more problems..
