crazy unknown hose HELP!!

so my car won't start, will crank, but not catch. and while exploring every possibility, i noticed that this hose was unplugged, however, i can;t find where it plugs into. can anyone help? please and thank you.

The end with the hook molded into it goes inside the plastic zip-tie on the firewall side of the air box. It doesn't connect to anything. It is the transmission vent.

you're kidding. that's it. i spent all day trying to find where it hooks up to. damn it. thanks though. saved me a crapload of work. thanks.
