1995 Windstar Trans-won't shift slips

My 1995 Windstar Trans-won't shift then slips--seems to stay in 1st gear most times--or will just seem to then go into neutral--no upshift--help

My 1995 Windstar Trans-won't shift then slips--seems to stay in 1st gear most times--or will just seem to then go into neutral--no upshift--help.

These vans are notoriuos for trans trouble, I have a 95 that I gave $1500 for and the trans is acting up alittle bit but it still pulls good, you may have no choice but to replace it or have it re-built
