Re: Tranny Problem?
thats normal for a 9 year old taurus with your mileage. Check the fluid level, if its fine then prepare financially for a rebuild or a new car within the next 10000 miles.

Re: Tranny Problem?
I just had the trans for my 98 Duratec rebuilt. The clutches had put some material through the trans and starved some areas of fluid. It has 190,000, but still looks brand new, so I paid the $2,400 for a complete rebuild. I would like to see this car to a million miles. I haven't test driven anything new that I like better. And that amount is alot less than a payment for another new car. Of course, other idiots hitting this car and their insurance paying to repaint it and rebuild parts of it has certainly helped its condition. Plus I had just done the brakes, tires and fuel pump a month and a half ago. And I don't want to get a used car that I don't know what could be wrong with it
