Do some tegs have window frames while others don't?

The other day, I saw a lady get out of a 94-01 integra and I thought I remembered seeing the door with no window frame above it, just like a true sports car would. But then I later saw a man get in his 98-01 integra that had a window frame on the door. When I rode in my teachers 01 type r, I don't recall the door having a window frame. So I'm wondering, did some years have the window frame on the door or did they have them at all?

I know that some don't, my friend's 94 four door LS doesn't have the frame...
