Pics

Here are some pics from my christmas and of my car and the engine and whatnot. I found the charger for my camera, so it's about time I post some new pics up here.

What I got for christmas...and I already have the A Perfect Circle CD. I also got a couple dress shirts, but I told my mom that I can't wear them to work and that's the only time I wear dress clothes so she's gunna take them back and get me something else. I was hoping to get a PSP, but I opted to get some cash for a guitar instead. Didn't think that's damn near ALL I would get, but it's all good...I'm gunna buy a PSP next week... I have a $20 gift card for best buy, $20 from my parents, $30 from my Grandma, and a $14 CD (the A Perfect Circle CD...currently on my 3rd copy of that exact CD...don't need another one...yet...) to return. That'd damn near $85 to put towards the PSP and they're only $250 anyway, so it's all good. I'll be glad when the holidays are OVER, though...my bank account will be able to recover...then it's time to continue work on the engine.

One of the COOLEST gifts I got. THANKS, CAR PIMP!

The infamous engine. Just gotta get the damn cam pullies off, then I can continue progress. It's kinda been on the back burner for a while...it's time to get back to work next month after my bank account recovers a bit.

Tranny and a big box full of nuts, bolts, the fuel rail, the lower intake plenum, etc.

Exhaust manifold, turbo and my old tool box. It's plastic and you have to yank the drawers kinda hard to get them open, which in result, sends the drawer's contents flying all over...no matter how careful you are. SO glad I got the Craftsmen box. That kicks ASS!

My daily driver. Nothing too special. Dirty as hell, but that's what you get in the winter. Shitty weather sucks.

The interior is definately the nicest part of the car. Damn near spotless black interior. The floors need a good scrubbing, though. Damn weather...amazing how snow and bad weather can fuck your car up so badly.

The Alpine CDA-9835. Good shit.

Re: Re: Pics

Thank you, those that complement my car. It's nice. It definately gets the job done and doesn't look embarassing doing it, which is always nice. The interior is definately the car's strong point, though. This is why I say that, if I bought that red 89 turbo and combined the goods from my car with the goods from that car, I could probably have a show car. The interior of my car is probably a 7 as it sits or at LEAST an 8 with a just a bit of easy scrubbing (out of 10) and the exterior is probably a 5 as it sits...could easily be up to a 9 or so with a decent paint job...there are no chunks missing, dents, big rust holes, etc in it.

It still needs some stuff, though. My power steering belt slipped off tonight. I was just "innocently driving down the road"* earlier and it just slipped off...lol. *I was actually doing some doughnuts in a yet-to-be-developed cul-de-sac... The brakes need to be done...regular maintenance. The shocks are so worn out that the mud flaps scrape the ground when I take off really fast...lol. The fan clutch has been stuck since I got it (so essentially I have an airplane prop attached to my crank). The speedo doesn't work...still...lol. Kinda bad cuz I even have a spare speed sensor that I know works and I know how to fix it...lol.

Mostly regular maintenance stuff...shocks, brakes, belts** (which didn't even BREAK...it just came off...<shrug>)...not a big deal. This is why, eventually I will install an electric fan, gutting all the old fan shroud and whatnot, I'll get the brakes fixed (within 3 weeks at the MOST) and I'm going to order a full Tokico spring and shock set off eBay...yea...$350 = 4 blue shocks and 4 lowering/performance springs...beat THAT price. Oh...and I have to revive the damn speedo, too. After this crap, it'll be damn near like new.

**Quick side note...people may wonder why I rant and rave about the infinate stupidity that is associated with SERPENTINE BELTS! Who the FUCK is the GENIOUS that came up with THIS IDEA?! "Yea...we can just run everything off ONE BELT! That'll be GREAT! GOD I'm a genious." "But...what if that belt breaks?" "Shut up and go fuck your sister." That HAD to have been the conversation behind the development of the serpentine belt. The Z31 has *3* belts! You can lose *2*...LITERALLY...and still be in business...and what are the odds of THAT happening?!

Serpentine belts are fucking stupid, yet some modern cars still use them. There for, some modern cars are fucking stupid.

Just some little shit, but older cars get things like these. It's all good. Comes with the territory. Wouldn't trade it for much, that's for sure.

How DARE YE!?!? Ye must not DISS the A Perfect Circle!!! They shall not EVER get OLD!

I've been listening to that CD since...like...10th grade. GREAT CD! Brings back a lot of personal memories and feelings from the time for me, as well...some good, some bad. My buddy burned the CD for me, first. Not all the songs were complete, the quality was questionable, the songs didn't all play right...etc. Well...I wore that CD out after about 3 years so I bought one. I listened to that until about a year ago, so I bought yet ANOTHER one. Then I got ANOTHER ONE for Christmas. GREAT CD...I'm tempted to keep it.

Maynard is my favorite singer/vocalist and I love the vibe of the CD (which I'm sure would be difficult for any other band to duplicate with me...I'll definately check out that band you mentioned). The musicianship is great...the guitar style (with a lot of the melodies being played in a root/octave, two note style...eg Judith)...the drum beats, especially the 6/6 timing used in the first song, The Hallow (I think it's 6/6...it's some real drawn out, dramatic rythm like that...)...in fact...have you ever even LISTENED to that CD? I don't mean have you HEARD it...I mean, have you ever LISTENED to it? I'm in no means trying to insult you or anything...it's just that most people don't listen to music...they just like to hear it and leave it at that. If more people LISTENED to music, rap and the like would exist no more. If you listen to this CD (The Hallow, Judith, Brena, 3 Libras, etc), it will never get old.

I'm also a MAJOR Tool fan, so this CD really strikes a chord with me. I'm the type that will sit in a dark room with a guitar and a beer and play Tool and APC songs along with the radio aaaaaaaaaall night long.

System and NIN...I saw System live when I was in 8th grade or so with Spineshank (AWESOME band...check out "Strictly Diesel"...great CD...again...great vibe), Hed PE (blows) and Fear Factory (kicks all different kinds of nut sack...love em). This was loooooong before ANYONE knew who System was. It's nice to see them make it big. They deserve it. They've demonstrated themselves to be quite talented musicians and I applaud that, even though it's not quite something I'd listen to all the time...some of it's a bit odd...

99% of people don't LISTEN to music. They just hear it and move on. This is why the majority of crap out there is digested so rapidly. If people actually LISTENED to music, they'd buy and be done with a new CD full of that shit in 20 min...nothing like that would sell under those circumstances and true MUSCIANS would thrive.

Educate this listener and the educated musician will thrive.

Hehehehe yeah i was listening to System of a Down before the went big. I still have my original copy of their self titled cd. Ahhhh... the good old Kumbucha Mushroom People... I remember you well. I wasnt a fan of Hypnotize though. Was quite dissapointed with it. Spineshank is pretty kickass as well. I have 2 of their cds as well. I dont mind Fear Factory. I went to see them live once and they werent that good. That maybe because Static-X and Korn, who were on after them, kicked so much ass....

HA...Kabooka mushroom people...damn them for sitting around all day...

Good shit. I haven't heard that song in forever. Great song. I've seen Korn before, but I haven't seen Static X. Korn's not bad and I've heard Static was good. System's good live. They're not bad, at least. Ironically enough, I saw them once WITH Korn...lol. Korn, System, Powerman 5000 (not bad), Kid Rock (mother-fucking-ewwww...blew all kinds of nut), and Metallica (James hurt his back and wasn't there...long story...)...that was a fun show. Ahhh...the things that happen in the pit between sets...

Re: Pics

llz, stoked for the new tool cd? i know i am... i've been listening to all of their stuff non stop for the last few weeks, it just seems like it CAN NOT get old... speaking of APC, i had their 13th step cd in my old car for literally 5 months before mer de noms replaced it, which was in there for another few months... awesome, awesome stuff...

should also check out "Thumlock" mainly their 'lunar mountain sunrise' lp... good shit.

anyway, pics of the shwag...

on the left there are some slick leather driving gloves, middle area is the brand new dremel multi set i got which is fucking sweet, with some new mini-screwdrivers in the middle... a pretty shnazzy torque wrench on the bottom and a handy dany mp3 cd player on the right.... got a good chunk of change (going towards a clutch) and a bunch of other small stuff... all in all i'd say it was a gooood year... going to go shopping tomorrow (yikes) and see if i can get a bigger memory card for my camera and a quality floor jack and maybe some quality ramps if they're cheap... w00t for boxing day sales!

Re: Pics

Boxing day...you guys are weird...you just go around hitting people on that day?

lol...j/k.

Oooo...you got a dreeeeeeeemel....oooooo....now you can port my heads and exhaust manifolds for me...

Not too bad, man. A good torque wrench isn't cheap, either. I'm going to have to get one before I start the reassembly process...there's just NO way to build an engine correctly without one. Not looking too forward to forking over the cash for it, but it's another tool...never too bad of a thing.

Heeeeeeey...if you ever need anywhere to STORE that stuff, just lemme know, man! I got a REALLY nice tool box now with lots of room to spare! I'd be happy to keep an eye on that dremel and all for you...lol

Anything released by Tool or APC will be in my possesion as soon as it is possible. I have every Tool cd and every APC cd. Some of the best shit out there.

Oh...and I've gone through 4 or 5 copies of Aenima...lol. These CDs just get played and handled so much that they wear out. I can play at least part of every song on that CD. Aenima is my favorite Tool CD. Fucking GREAT CD!

Oh yea...I'm considering going out and buying a PSP today...I just dunno, though. Got some errands to run and I gotta go to the bank and see how much money I don't have. This would be my last little splurge for the year. It's Christmas time, dammit...gotta splurge a bit, ya know?

Re: Pics

Nah...they aren't going. It slipped off cuz I had the engine screaming along at ~6500 rpm with the wheel cut all the way right doin doughnuts. lol It didn't even break...it just slipped off.

K...so I got a PSP today...and it is the SHIT! I temporarily fucked up my wireless internet trying to set it up, though...but I got it. I checked my e-mail on the psp...lol. I even got on the forum with it! It's cool as hell. Not the MOST practical means of web browsing, but it DOES work...quite well, actually. Rather use it than dial up. Also, playing multiplayer SOCOM on it kicks ass. VERY cool little unit.

Yup...that's what my Girlfriend got...another little dog...I'm not sure what to think about this yet...

Sorry the pics came up so big. Dunno why.
