97 Teg GS vs Pontiac Sunbird.

Hi All,

So here I am driving down Hwy 403. There's a large escrapment there and the highway runs down it on a long straight away with a nice compliment of high speed turns. That's the course.

I'm going down that ways, nicely at 140Km/h and here comes a later model Sunbird with the dual exhaust tips. I hit into 4th and speed along side. Oh I have a custom cat back with no resonator, and a CAI. Anyway I leave this thing. I'm wondering, was this guy racing or not?

Having fun on our nice roads,
Spotovi.

I wouldn't mine racing one to see what they can do. I've been having a hard time trying to find someone in the Hamilton, On area. Come on everyone is there a speed limit or is there a speed limit?

:-)

Afraid of me. They shouldn't be. It could be the whole GSR thing. I have no markings on my car so maybe I look like a GSR, I don't know. That can explain why the cars that are pulling up beside me are Mustangs and Grand Prixs. Maybe I should fly a banner saying "LS Non-Vtec, all slow 4 cylinders welcome". :-)

Well it happed again. I found another Sunbird flying around the QEW. I noticed the Sunbird from far away. He was moving from lane to lane creating havac. It's a three lane highway and I was in the fast lane going around 120Km/h. So the Sunbird GT, I know this now, is right up my tail. I can see that he really had nowhere to go because of a truck in the middle lane and an escort in the slow lane. So the Sunbird tailgated me until he had an opening. Then it flew into the slow lane to get away from the traffic. We were moving onto Hwy 403 which is very emty this time of night, so I say, should I, or shouldn't I. Well I should.

So I put it into 4th, 3rd I figured was not neassary, and I speed up to catch my Sunbird. I now began making my intentions clear. Well to my dismay the driver, which is a guy, lets up on the gas and lets me go. I say o well, and drive off. Well the Sunbird now is starting to taunt me going down the road, moving back and forth behind me, so I pull to the middle lane, and downshift waiting for the race. Well, when I slow down, so does he. What a disappointment. I tried one more time without a race so I ignore him for the rest of my time on the highway. It seemed to bug the guy but I like burning gas for a reason.

Still having fun on the highways. Sorry for the no results again, but hey I'm trying.

On a side note. I caught up quickly on the Sunbird last night. He was moving ok but his top end sucked. I think I can take them, I just need a real race to find out.

Regards,
Spotovi
