Scratchbuilding...my first time

This is my second model, and i wanted to attempt some scratchbuilding. It's a 69' charger, and i want to put a fuel cell in the trunk, and build my own steering wheel, as well as a tach. I already did the steering wheel, and just need to paint the tach, but what should I do to make a fuel cell. I have seen a lot of you guys put em in the muscle cars, but how do you make those things. A tutorial of tips would be most helpful! Thanks in advance.

Re: Scratchbuilding...my first time

I do mine from styrene card.

1. Remove the original fuel tank
2. Measure the opening
3. Cut a square/rectangle large enough to overlap the opening on all sides so that it "hangs" from the chassis.
4. Hold it in place, then mark the opening so that you have a square/rectangle the same size as the opening on the base peice. Then decide how low you want it to hang from the chassis. As well as what shape you want it to have (square, slanted, etc)
5. Now cut the sides and bottom and glue them all together.
6. Attatch the "box" you just made to the larger piece that will hang it from the chassis.
7. Finally drop it in from the top side of the chassis plate.
8. You can add some straps if you'd like.

Hanging from the chassis:
