Opti Spark! 94 Z28

I have noticed alot of people talking about the OPTI SPARK when it comes to hesitation or with acceleration problems. Then I noticed someone said if the Opti Spark gets wet its trash! My questions are this...Where is the Opti Spark located? Is it what the other end of the Coil Pack wire is connected to? Is it considered a distributer? Also, my engine was washed down after a major cooling system overhaul and it ran like crap after getting the engine wet. It only ran like crap for about 5 minutes then it was back to normal. So far each time the engine gets wet it does this. I have all the plugs and wires replaced and the coil pack was replaced. Could it be the OPTI SPARK that might be causing the problem? How hard is it to replace this or do I need to take it to the shop? Hoping this helps cure my problem...every now and then I will have a bit of hesitation during acceleration but nowhere near as bad as it was.

your opti is located behind your water pump. the 94 had a non vented opti and tended to crap out pretty fast... btw opti's are very expensive (but msd just came out with a cheaper alternate version)
