Re: best companies?

There all garret based units. Its basicly just different names you are paying for with different companies. Just look at compressor maps to find the best turbo for your purpose.

Re: best companies?

garret centers, there all based ont he garret design. Changing the compressor and a/r is something everyone does. It really makes no difference tho.

Some manufactueres go over and above and make antisurge housings and such.
Get the best you can afford that will put you in the proper power range.

Re: best companies?

yeah

you need to match the turbo to the amount of power you're making

if you shoot them an email with a power estimate you should get repsonses

Re: best companies?

Just tell me ill find one for you.

Give me a price range for what yu want to spend on the turbo alone and what kind of power you want to make. Ill find you one that will work for you.

Re: best companies?

LOL, price is always ALWAYS a limiting factor with these cars. And from the sounds of it, you shoudl not be building your own motor. 500whp is pushing the 13B HARD, 600 is even harder and will not be drivable at all. The lag alone will be HUGE no matter what turbo you are using.

But it is doable, but you need an experance engine builder to build your motor, its not really one of those do it yourself kind of things making power like that.

Re: Re: Re: best companies?

Garret and then talk to the tech and tell him exactly what you want to do. Lag isn't nor should be even at 500 which isn't bad for a 13B-rew. 1 way is to have a smaller turbo you don't need a huge turbo to push 500-600 hp. 2. Take a look at turbo insulators they will also aleviate lag problems at decent hp levels. From what I've seen 13B-rews really can be pushed to 900 hp before they start popin like cherries anyway then you just need a nice 2Jz for under the hood or even better an ls1

TII's arent equipped with the REW. FD's are.

500whp, you will experance lag. To make peak power of 500whp with the smallest turbo possible you need to run high boost (high20's to low 30's), lag WILL be a factor as porting anything less than a full bridge port will not allow the exhaust gas to escape fast enough to fully spool the turbo.

900whp is VERY high for a 13b of any variation. They will pop far sooner than that. You would need a fully dowled and pinned motor, full race porting, big turbo, high boost, water injection, ect ect to acheive such numbers and recieve little reliability out of it.
Trust me i have built lots LOTS of these to huge power levels. 13b's are not designed to be pushing huge numbers.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: best companies?

I was reffering to the FD... Also lag really shouldn't be as bad as you say it is. Signals R34 has a single T layout and is pushing 1200 hp and compete's in timeattack which leaves almost no room for lag.
