1997 Tahoe won't start
I replaced the battery and it started fine a couple times and then wouldn't start again. All I get is a single "click".
I took it to a shop and they replaced the starter. When I picked it up it started there and once when I stopped at a store again. The next day (today) I go out to start it and again........"click". Any ideas? |

I would check the battery cables very closely for any corrosion or looseness. Sometimes the positive cable has a dual cable setup and corrosion loves to hide inside the end that connects to the battery. Also turn on your headlights and watch them as a helper tries to start the truck, if it just clicks and the headlights get dimmer it may be a problem with the starter ( yes even new starters can be bad ). If the lights stay the same brightness , or if the lights go out , I would be checking those battery cables first. Good luck!

Everything's clean and tight.
I went out today to start it up and this time it tried to start twice and then on the third try it started up. No click this time but for some reason it wouldn't start until the third try. Wierd. |

Next time it wont start try wiggling the key around while it is in the crank position. You may have an ignition switch problem.
