Just bought an 85 MR2
I recently purchased a 1985 MR2 from this guy who claims his brother bought it in 1987. It has 130K original miles and is in sound condition. I took it to my mechanic and he told me it's gonna be a money pit, because parts and labor are so expensive. What should I do? Would it be worth my time to fix it up as an everday driver or should I sell it? I'll get some pics for ya'll soon. Nate.

Re: Just bought an 85 MR2
Why would parts and labor be any more expensive on this car than any other?!
If the car is mechanically sound, as you say, what's the issue? If it runs good and you like it, keep it!

Re: Just bought an 85 MR2
just learn how to work on it yourself. it wont be any more of a money pit than any other car. i know that on my 86, i replaced, the clutch, alt, and fuel pump all for 315. thats doing all the work myself. just depends. its a great car though.
