Billet Grille Question

I am thinking about buying a grille for my 02 camaro, but I have a few questions to ask first, I live in Texas, and If i do buy a grille for my car I will have no where to put a front License Plate. So I was wondering if anyone knows if you have to have a front plate in Texas or not. Also, if you do have to have a front plate, would it be possible to sit it up on the dashboard to where it you can see it from the windshield, like some people do in the backwindow??

Alright, I know that in Texas.. because its where I live, some cars dont have them on their front at all, so im guessing its legal, and if it wasnt why would they sell vanity plates in the first place? Just carry your liscence plate in your car, dont put on your dash or anything and if a cop pulls you over for it you can just say it fell off or some other lame excuse, or say that you didnt know they are required infront.

In the end, the cops shouldnt give you crap unless you're young(er) or have your car all riced out. And if worse comes to worse you can hold up the liscense plate by using zip ties on the holes and around the grill.

Re: Billet Grille Question

I live in Texas, have all my life. I was told it has to be on the front. A cop at a school actually walked over to me. I wanted to hit him, becasue he was a jack ass. But then again, they are all in that city. Although, I see soo many people without them on the front.

Re: Billet Grille Question

What are you talking about, licence plate?
If you are I had the same frekin problem......
Turds gave me a fix it ticket so Id have to get it done too, and I see people without them all the flippin time.
But then again Im a cop magnet, I was stopped twice in two days, what are the odds, for completely different reasons.
Been stopped a total of 9 times, but never a ticket, only had my licence for 4 yrs. Whats with that.....anyways .......
