Progress; Revell Ferrari F430 - Smurf Blue

So yeah, here it is , my little christmas present that I m going to try to finish next week.

I know I ve got still a lot in progress, but that will be taken care of (especially the trabbant that is almost done.)

So on with the pics for those who are not familiar with this kit.

It's the 1/24 th Revell AG kit, Quite nice IMO, similar to the Scaglietti from the same manufacturer. Downsides are the way too thick chrome plating, the rims and the tyres could be better, but usable

Anyways, As I m planning an out of box build with minor modifications, I will be using Tamiya's DTM rims with street tyres on it (and I might modify it to a 5 lug pattern), I will use fujimi brakes on it and use MS_4 paint.

on with the pics of the testing.

oh yeah and the real car only has engravings on one side of the mirror, driverside, so little detail that will not be overlooked.

here you go , I hope I will be able to post some nice progress in not too long .

Olivier

maybe the wheels should be bigger.that revell kit has a nice body but really poor wheels and tires.i shall choose the fujimi kit.but i still believe tamiya will give us that pretty horse!

Isn't Mach Blue the color for the Mercedes CLK GTR Original Teile? If it is, where can you get that color? I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

great colour scheme/rims
I'm also beginning a 360 CS blu notte with red interiors and for the rims.. I's suggested from 550 GTC with those huge rims
great job so far keep updated

Hey all! some answers!

Blu n white interior then?

Nope, it's going to get a dark gray interior with black and alu accents.

Isn't Mach Blue the color for the Mercedes CLK GTR Original Teile? If it is, where can you get that color?

No idea what the colour is intended for... I just got it because I thought it might look out of the ordinary.
It's a quite nice colour, but if you buy it, be sure to deepen the panellines a lot like I did, because it's very thick.

sweet, I can't wait to see the blue

It is on the car, no clear or anything whatsoever, i ll have pics within a few days. (quite happy with how it looks on it.)

OMG those original wheels look so shit...can't you repaint
those?

Yeah, they look like crap, I dechromed them using bleach, and resprayed them into something more convincing, but still too small, so I ll have to look for a solution.

That's it, thanks for interest and questions.

Re: Progress; Revell Ferrari F430 - Smurf Blue

Some little updates.

I was thinking a little bit of plagiarising never hurt anybody , so I d like to thank our spinning-wheels -specialist Robiturbo, who made a nice tutorial on a link.

What I did do on it is just basically paint it; polish, but I need to polish it a bit further in detail, then wax it.

Nothing much is to be said on this model, except it's a trial-model for those wheel thingies, and will come up hanging on my wall as some sort of display artsy piece, on a piece of wood faded to look like a racetrack (again, plagiarising to the extreme, beotch! )

Nothing too special on this kit, besides the rimses and stuff.

rimses prototypes. (will get detail later)

rimses on the car.

little detail for the rimses now.

That's it, comments are as always welcome!

big thanks to stijnbamps1, who helped me with the thinking and the swearing on this kit too!

hehe

Oli
