Problems with grille on 2000 Ram

Dear Board,

The strangest thing has happened.

The chrome bezel of my grille has started to blister. I realize it is a chrome decal, but I have owned the truck since new and have never seen this happen before. I think it is related to the cold weather have experienced recently, it's almost like the plastic under the decal has shrunk.

Anybody else every have this happen?

Regards,

Goobs

Re: Problems with grille on 2000 Ram

I found a blister running horizontal on the drivers side on my 99 Ram yesterday. Seen this happen on other items before. I don't know the cause but I've seen them peel. I had a headlight knob on a Ranger that did this. Also the peel is razor sharp once it spilts so be careful. That headlight knob got me a couple times before I replaced it.

I'd paint my grille if it started to peel. The chrome stuff isn't that good.

dodge chrome isnt real chrome as you guys have noticed. even the chrome 20s are aluminum rims with a plastic cover over them that is made to look chrome. if you have those chrome 20s make sure you dont get some idiot tire jockey messin with em, that stuff can pop off there pretty easy with a tire machine.

Unless they have changed Stull industries makes a nice replacement grille for the 94-01 Ram and is about as much as a factory one.It comes as a 1 piece unit with the shell and billet inserts already installed. The shell is chrome plated metal and the inserts are polished aluminum.
