96 - Stupid Door Alarm!!!

I'm sure this is a common problem but I can't seem to fix it. The door ajar light comes on the dash and the idiot bell sounds until the van's speed gets up to about 20 mph. When the speed drops to about 10 mph the idiot bell sound comes on again. Very annoying to say the least. It is probably a door sensor. How can I fix this stupid van?!

I experienced the same issue on my 98. It's all tied into the door locks.(Driver's side in my case) I soaked them down with WD-40 and the problem went away. (right where the latch is in the door) They seem to be prone to contamination and go haywire.

This forum was extremely helpful for me in resolving the problem & several others, hopefully this helps you....

Regards,

Joe

The WD-40 seems to have worked. Thanks!
