Engine And Exhaust Questions

I have a 2000 firebird and I am wanting to upgrade my v6 firebird intake manifold to the trans am manifold...is this possible? I am wanting to do this so that i have a flush look as a V8 enigine.. If so how hard was it to do? Also i am wanting to improve horsepower and i am thinking about getting headers and exhaust...What do you reccomend? Does anyone know where you can get trand am side skirts at a good price? Does anyone ever buy anything from Billy grahams firebird auto salvage? If so was it a good deal? If anyone could help me out that would be great!

Thanks

Chris

Re: Engine And Exhaust Questions

Im not sure about the manifold but if u want HP catback and headers are the way to go. Catback depends on which company you like and your budget. You could get the loudmouth for $375 or a boral system for $900. Headers get some nice longtubes. Every1 says pacesetter are the best for the $ but ig u have a higher budget get a better brand. Then you can slowly power program it, underdrive pullie's...etc. Time, patience, MONEY.

Re: Engine And Exhaust Questions

And as for putting headers on a V6 I realy dont think its worth it. maybe a catback well deffintly a muffler. You can gain maybe 10horsepower with a highflow cat and catback on a V6. Thats what Id say.

Re: Re: Engine And Exhaust Questions

well it all depends on what kind of power you want and how much you want to spend. Dont expect the parts to work as well as they do on V8's. Catback is good. Getting rid of the stock restrictive baffle will boost up the HP a bit. Change the filter and get a new lid. Headers i cant say. I dont know how serious you are on buying them. If u really want them do a little research and find out whats best for you.

Re: Engine And Exhaust Questions

V8 parts simply won't fit a V6 car.

Except for maybe an airbox lid.
