Diesel Probs

My 1997 Diesel will cut off after it is hot. It'll start, idle, and run until the temp gauge starts moving, about the time you notice it moving the truck dies. Any ideas.

Re: Diesel Probs

I'm assuming this is a GM 6.5 Diesel?
If so, I would check the PMD.
A faulty PMD will cause a stall hot

Re: Diesel Probs

Easier said than done. Been there, done that.
You'll have to pull the intake to get to it easily.

The last few 6.5s I worked on needed complete pumps. When I ran a scan on the ecm, it came up w several codes, including a cam sensor code. Seems the "eye" in the pump was acting screwey.

Have the computer scanned and see what comes up before you spend money on a module.
