Thumbs up Hyundai Accent Overdrive Problem & Solution

My Accent decided to refuse to go into overdrive. Not all the time, but usually when I needed it on the Interstate.
The problem turned out to be two broken wires, from the Overdrive button on the shift.
I removed the overdrive cover and checked the wires. They were cable tied to the metalwork, and the stick movement had fatigued the wires over time, snapping two of the three.
Solution: Strip the insulation and reconnet the wires - soldering or using crimp connectors. When repositioning them, apply some tape as well as sleeving insulation, and then let them 'float' freely.
If you need more info email me.
