Can anybody tell if it is a hard jobb to change the seal on front differential left driveshaft on a -95 4wd V6CPI? It is leaking...

How much is it to remove?

Thanks,
Freddy

Are you talking the seal between the transfer case and the tailshaft? If so it's not a difficult job.

No, it's the seal on the left side of the diff, on the shaft that drives the left front wheel...

Ahh...shoulda paid more attention to your first message... It's not that difficult, just time consuming. You'll need a bench and a press to get the prop shaft out. At that point a regular seal remover or hammer and a screwdriver will work to remove the seal. Use an oversized socket and a hammer to install the seal... And tap the yoke for the front prop shaft back into place...(For all this you will have to split the transfercase open. You will need a new gasket for that.

If I understand you right I have to remove the front diff/transfercase and splitt it in order to get axcces to the seal? It's not possible to reach it from the outside then... bummer
Sounds like a little more work then I expected.

Thanks for your replys, rlith.
