I'm a little over 6'5" and I recently test drove an '06 Grand Prix GXP. I loved the performance,
but the sunroof lowered the headroom enough that my hair was constantly (and annoyingly) brushing the roof. The sales guy said after a few months the seat would break in slightly and give me about another inch of headroom. Is this a bogus claim or do the seats break down that much in so short a time? Anybody else out there as tall as me own one that can comment? The sunroof is nice, but not a requirement for me. I'll order one without one if that's what I have to do. BTW - Can you get the "Monsoon" (premium) radio without the "sun & sound" package (i.e. without getting the sunroof?) Thanks!! -alt

Re: Is GP GXP friendly for tall drivers??
the sunroof lowers the head room. i noticed that b-4 we purchased our grand prix. my hair rubbed the roof on the one with the sunroof but not the one without. but the old lady wined she wanted a sunroof, so now i got this bald spot j/k

i do know that most sunroofs lower head room. go for a gxp w/o the sunroof, open it up and let me know how it runs...i think they look pretty sweet.

Hope it works out for ya, and if your sound system is as bad as what i have in my 97 gtp, you could take some time to upgrade it a little with aftermarket speakers, if time and money are available. Just a thought.
