Rover 220 Coupes

I am thinking of buying a 220 coupe, maybe turbo maybe not. Insurance costs suggest NOT

Just wondering if they made ANY hatchback coupes. I know it sounds odd, but I'm convinced I was in Amersham high street once and saw a 220 coupe with a hatchback and folding down back seats.

I fix computers for a living and I need to transport monitors and PCs boxed up, so the coupe wont be any good if it can't fold down the seats..

Any ideas?

Joe

There is no Hatch, that I know of. But the rear seats do go down, I have a 216 coupe 1994, it's a great car and doesn't half shift. My mates got a toyota corrolla TSport and mine left his standing that... not bad for an old motor..

Hi there,

Cheers for replying. Its been nearly 2 years since I posted that message! I bought a grandad-mobile in the end (A Y reg Nissan Primera).

Its got a ridiculously large boot and is fairly nippy but its strong point is that even as standard it handles damn well and out corners my modified-car driving mates, although once on the straights they disappear into the distance!

Re: Rover 220 Coupes

Could have been a 3 door hatchback with coupe bumpers fitted. It's a popular mod to fit coupe bumpers. I don't like it myself but let these wannabe coupe owners do what they like I say, LOL. They also made a few GTi turbo hatches!!!!

As you say, insurance is very high. Due to my modifications, they bump mine up from insurance group 17 to 18 which is basically Porsche land.

It's for sale if you know anyone....£2750, I live in Croydon, Surrey (UK for the uninformed)
