94 jeep laredo starting problem...

electric works turn key and no sound at all. every light and power option still works, just when i turn the key nothing not a sound at all. I have been told it is the starter solenoid. I am goin to have to replace the entire starter, someone help!

Try tapping each battery terminal with a hammer to make sure both are getting good connection. That has saved me several times over the years. Always the first thing I try if I get no starter action.

Just as micallen said, you might have a good enough connection for the light load of your accessories but the starter is a big draw. Check both the connections at the battery and also follow the ground lead from the battery to the chassis and make sure that it is also tight.

If the ground is the problem, then you'll know pretty quickly. You also should hear the solenoid "click" when you turn the key. Even with a poor ground you should still have enough power to trip the solenoid.

If it is the solenoid, you need to find out if they are sold separately on that starter.
