sr-5 or gt-s please help?

I'm about to buy an 86 corolla but i'm kinda having trouble figuring out what it is. On the back hatch it says gts, but the engine is a carburated 4ac. i will check the vin to make sure next time. the guy that is selling is said that the odometer stoped working at 80k but he drove it like another 20k before he decided to sell it. maybe he doesn't want to say he had a swap done on it. but anyways the car runs good hope to buy it this week. buying it for $600. also do you think the paradise racing power pack is worth it. i was thinking of getting it. soon i'll be a new owner of an ae86.

VIN number for a GTS has AE88
VIN number for a SR5 has AE86

either way most people want the fuel injected engine, the 4age.

it is possible that the guy swapped the 4ac into the GTS.

GTS = 4age
SR5 = 4ac

maybe the hatch was swapped out.

look at the doors, should say down the side GTS twin cam 16. check vins first place.

also look at the vin under the hood, on the firewall should say 4ac or 4age.

doubtful someone swapped a 4ac into a GTS

it is possible someone use the GTS as a parts car to cnvert and SR5 and jsut swapped and sold the car.
