I have A 2000 grand am gt I can start the car and run about 20mil. After that the car stalls like it is running out of gas. It has a Full tank of gas I can here the pump running & I replaced the fuel filter still the same thing. Anyone have this problem?

Welcome to AF! Does the car restart readily or do you need to wait a while. If it restarts then you will need to replace the crank position sensor. It is probably overheating and shutting off. One other question, does the security light come on when this happens. If it does you will need to reset the security system.

It is possible that the crank position sensor is overheating and once it cools down it will restart. I would suspect the fuel pump however since it stalls at speed and must sit for an extended period to restart. The fuel pump will overheat and stop working. The only way to fix it is to change the pump. Before changing the pump, replace the fuel pump relay under the hood. The fuel pump relay will cause the pump to shut down if it is going bad. Use only and OEM relay when you replace it.
