Heater Fan quit

I have a 97 jimmy sl Heater fan was working fine I stopped shut off truck went into a bookstore for a 1/2 hour came back out started truck, no heater fan. Any Ideas? I checked the fuses in the cab they all check out but I don't know if there is another set under the hood or not Any help would be great.

Re: Heater Fan quit

I heard of the switch going out on those quite often. I'd check the fan itself too.

I'm really hoping it's the switch I don't have the cash for a new fan. Also There was no indication anything was wrong with the fan it has worked fine since I got the truck in June would it just go like that??

Re: Heater Fan quit

Expect to pay around $13 for the switch, and about $35 for the motor.

Re: Heater Fan quit

Does the fan switch just pop out of the dash or do I have to get at it from behind

Re: Heater Fan quit

You must remove the trim around the radio and switches. Then remove the 4 screws holding the control assembly to the dash. Then just remove the knob, wiring and there will be a plastic clip or two holding the switch in place.

Re: Re: Heater Fan quit

good luck. i got lucky. check the connecting wire and prong on the blower motor itself. sometimes rust builds upp and by you removing it it might have cleaned it enough
