extension cord going to motor
what's up everyone first time posting
i have a 1988 s10 blazer 2.8l i found an extension cord going to my block while i was replacing camshaft bearings and main bearings i believe it's to heat the antifreeze, but the real question is how does it work, can i leave it plugged in all night if its cold and i want it to be warm in the morn. or is there a time limit?

Welcome to AF on your first post.
You have just found a block heater. No timmers on them. They work all of the time when plugged in. Give it a try on a cold night. Plug it in at night before and go out the next moring and see if everthing is nice and warm. If you have instant heat from the heater bingo it is working. MT

I've never seen any give you instant heat out of the heater, but they sure help vehicles start in cold tempurtures.
When I was in Winnipeg in Febuary that was the only way that I could start my Diesel car some cold days

Answer:
I don't need one. Too warm where I live. Today will be in the high 60's to low 70's with sunshine. Might have to jump in the pool... Have a good one, all...

Seriously, I hope all you posters out there have a great one, whatever it is you get into this holiday season and thanks for your help on my S-dime over the past year, especially on my windshield wiper issue. Who would have thought that hairline cracks in solder joints at the connector would have been the cause?? Since I re-soldered them, the wipers haven't missed a beat!! later... eti engineer

10-4 on the solder joint. Just like the old brill cream commerical. A little dab will do you just get it in the right spot. MT
