hey i just got a 1996 v8 4.2 liter (i think) and well i was woundering if anyone knew the 1/4 mile time, bhp, 0-60 pretty much everything about the car. I have no idea of what this car is or what it can do. I have never had a v8 and i would really appreciate if anyone could help me out. The car is in really bad shape ill hape pics of it online soon. Thanks to all.

1/4 mile times - 96/97 4.6L Cougar/T-Bird: mid to upper 15's.

Factory#s - '96-'97 4.6L HP & TQ SAE-net 205 hp @ 4,250 rpm
280 lbs.-ft. of torque @ 3,000 rpm

Chassis dyno#s - '96 4.6L - 163 hp / 228 lbs. ft torque

Thanks alot dude really appreciate it. Also after i at least get this car back up to stock is when ill start doing performance changes, but just a quick question is it worth taking out the air box and replacing it with Intake? And if it is? is there anytype of short ram or CAI for the Cougar?

Also i was wrong about the year its a 95 does that change anything? I know its a XR7.
