Angry no fast idle

i have a 1999 crown victoria with no fast idle if you hold gas till it warms up it runs great and then starts ok. is it the idle control valve if so where is it thanks jim

There is no "fast idle" on most modern vehicles.
Does your car not start well, or die immediately after starting?

More than likely the Idle Air control valve. It is located at the top, center, rear of engine. It had a hose about an inch in diameter and a wiring connection. It is held in place by 2 8mm bolts. Easily replaced.

Yup, very easily. When you buy the new one, you'll be able to figure out which part the old one is-LOL

I don't think ModMech was talking about the modern electrically controlled valves our modern day cars use.
