Has this happened to anyone?

So the othere night i am about a mile a way from where i am headed, when my car loses a lot of power and sounds like a harley davidson. My guess was that i wasnt firing on all 4. Sure enough, one of my spark plug wires had like a whole burned into it, and was shorting out on the post that you put your spark plug wire cover on. Put some duct tape on that baby and it runs fine now (temp fix till i can get to the store and buy some new wires). Is my engine running way to hot or somthing? Because i had never heard of this happening.

Not sure, but thanks for the idea. I was driving mine today and all of the sudden I lost power (dropped 1000 rpms) while at a steady 30 mph. It only did it 3 times a few minutes apart but it stopped once the car was warmed up. Ill check the plug wirs first thing tomorrow...
