one headlight brighter than other

I have a 1988 jeep cherokee pioneer and my one headlight is brighter than the other I already replaced the plugs any suggestions

After verifying the obvious- matching part number bulbs, I suggest cleaning the grounds for both lamps. After that, it's time to break out the voltmeter.

Cherokees have sealed lamps, make sure the brighter one is not installed upside down. There should be a brand name accross the front, make sure both names are right-side up.

I Replaced Both Plugs For The Lamps And There Is No Difference Could It Be The Switch The High Beams Seem To Be Ok

It shouldn't be the switch since the two headlights splice after the switch on most years. Pull the lights and leave them plugged in. Turn them on and make sure they have less than .5volts on the black (Ground ) circuits, and that they have a full 12v on the light feed circuits. Power on a ground wire indicates a bad ground. You could trace it, or just reground it. Also, while your at it, see if the same color wire is on the same terminal at both headlights. You should only have power on 1 wire at each headlight in low or high beams. Power on two wires on the dim light also indicates a poor ground, or a bad socket. Make sure its plugged in while testing. You could have had a socket replaced and miswired in the past.
