Question Just bought an 02 Type-S

Ok, so I just bought an 02 Type-S. Got it through a dealer in my town who picked it up at an auction. It's got an Injen CAI, Magnaflow Exhaust, Neuspeed lowering springs and a front sway bar. Now I was not given a "mod list" so these are the only visible mods done. I'm interested in getting the Hondata ecu flash, but I don't know if it has it done already......So, is there any way to tell if the ECU has been done already?

Thanks in advance.

I'd try and contact Hondata because the only way that I know of is to see where the redline is (if its 8600 then its a reflash) but some reflashes keep the stock redline, so its a method that can't rule out if it was flashed or not.

You should be able to tell by what RPM your Vtec crossover happens - Hondata #2/#4 reflash. For K-pro there should be a USB port hanging off the ECU somewhere to allow a laptop to connect to it.

ya I think I'm just gonna email hondata rather than seeing how high my rpms will go . From reading around I've gathered that I need to get the ECU Serial and email hondata......now I know the ecu is on the passenger side right? how do I get at it??

edit: n/m I've got it.

Thanks guys

True, but I think that with both reflashes - redline stock or redline @8600 - your Vtec crossover is lowered to ~5000 RPM. So if you floor it and you see(actually "hear") the crossover happen at 5000 RPM rather than ~5800 - 6000 RPM, then you should be able to tell if it's been flashed.
