confused about headlight options

i have a 2000 plymouth neon, i just bought a pair of xenon 9007 headlight bulbs to try out and they are exactly the same brightness as the standard halogen bulbs....

does any type of bulb truly provide more/brighter light in the standard equipment headlights?

would some type of aftermarket headlight housing used with one of these xenon/whatever type of bulbs provide better lighting?

ive read some stuff about HID lights, and conversion kits, etc.. would that be the only real way to get better light output? would i need new headlight housings for a HID conversion?

thanks for any input

Did you atleast get a better color, like better white color, cause some headlight bulbs just give a hyper white color.

Re: confused about headlight options

Sylvania Silverstars are probably the brightest bulbs you can get without having to modify anything. They have great light output. Installing an HID kit is pricey and no you would not need different housing. Try the Silverstars and if you don't like those, you may want to look into the HID's. Also do you have the stock headlights on and are they yellow? Cleaning those up will help your light output as well.

Re: confused about headlight options

do i need to get a new set of headlight assemblys for a HID conversion or are my stocks ok to use?

and even if they are ok to use, would an aftermarket set make it even better?

what is the different or meaning of projector headlights and whatever other types? (like ive seen mentioned angel eyes, some kind of m3 lookalike, idk...

Re: confused about headlight options

you have to be careful with stock replacement bulbs, a lot of them put out a TON of heat that tends to melt everything around the bulb.
