timing belt

If my timing belt breaks will it hurt the rest of the engine. If not when should I replace it.

zetec's a non interference motor, belt breaks.. nothing happens just replace it.

ford says 120,000 miles (on my car though)

i'd say 80,000 if it's driven hard.. I did 140,000 on my stock TB and it still looked good (and I didn't exactly drive my car lightly)


it's your choice, If you want to change it now it's just preventitive maintence and peace of mind.. Nothing sucks more than having to pay for a wrecker cause your car broke down.
