Have a 2000 Ford Taurus and it stalls after starting it in the mornings or when it hasn't been run in a while. It starts fine but after 30secs or so it stalls out. I have to let it run for at least 10 minutes before I go out on the road or it will stall out on the road. Now the check engine light is on. And there is a squeaking noise from the engine, the squeaking noise gets louder and louder then the engine stalls. What the hell is it. Asked mechanics and they don't know, could be a sensor.

Re: 2000 Taurus stalls
Can you keep it running long enough to get it to a chain parts store that will read the codes at no charge? If not, maybe one of the parts stores will rent the tool to you.
You'll probably find a code for a camshaft position sensor or similar. The other thread that you posted to, http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=479199, mentioned that. -Rod |
