help doing car up right
hey guys i just wanted your opionion i got a 2001 honda civic si and i wanna do this car up right no slap on shit or anything.. i was thinking a r43 full kit but then i was also thinking mugan full lip kit.. the car is blue and i wanna keep it blue.. but i have heard that my year civics have suspension problems and i know that mine is going so i am thinking about putting a tein suspension with coil overs. but that costs alot of $ so is there any other suspension that is good for my car and won't give me problems after. also does anyone know about the franklin swap? my buddie told me about it cuz i want my car to be dohc instead of sohc.thanks

Re: help doing car up right
Teins are worth the money..I beat the shit outta my vic around NYC with the Tiens very reliable. You pay for what you get bottom line. Keep your car clean a nice CF lip and CF wing in the back.

Re: Re: help doing car up right
01 civic si (sohc)!?
Use the H&R "black" springs. I don't remeber if it is H&R sport or something like that. For me this is the best suspension for a street civic (never see or try a Tein on a civic). The lowering rate is about 1.5" rear and 1.75" front. If you go with a lower rate springs sometimes you will do some "drawings" to the road... And for the shocks, KYB GR2 or AGX... Remember, a camber kit always is a good add to a lowered car... And WHAT ENGINE YOU HAVE??? |

i have the 1.7L v-tec engine and its single head ova cam. but i want it to be dual. i also heard that the tsx engine can be mounted on to my car. so i thought about doing that in the future. my freind has the tein suspension and he loves it and its realli good with the corners. but i want sumthing that can rap corners and will last me a long as time.

Re: help doing car up right
K20=mucho dinero......not worth it yet IMO....wait a couple years for that swap to be worth while. I would look into GSR and B16A swaps rather than a K20

Re: help doing car up right
there have been improvements on the K swaps, but for the most part, they are still rather spendy...i would say at least $1500-2000 more than a B series

Re: help doing car up right
nothing a junkyard turbo won't fix. Of course, a K swap will last alot longer than a stock engine with the turbo off of a 1978 Mercedes 300S Diesel.

Re: help doing car up right
i am not to happy with the cost to preformance ratio for the k20. i would also say save money until price comes down more
